The art of line
and perspective
A graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, specializing in engraving, I also trained in calligraphy, typography, and the history of writing, which has always drawn me close to the world of books.
In 1990, I joined Éditions Gallimard as an illustrator-cartographer for its guidebook collection, and for eight years I drew bird’s-eye views of cities and regions.
After becoming an independent artist in 1998, I went on to work for numerous publications such as Géo, Côté Ouest, Le Particulier, and Pyrénées Magazine, illustrated several non-fiction books, and devoted myself to drawing, sketching, and watercolor through landscapes—often urban ones—and illustrated reportages.
My passion for perspective, the precision of line, and my taste for detail have naturally shaped my work as an illustrator. I enjoy drawing from life and capturing on paper the depth of the spaces I observe. Through the interplay of light and shadow and the choice of viewpoint, I seek to draw the viewer into the sheet of paper itself.

What the press says about Vincent Brunot
His line is both precise and poetic. Vincent Brunot masters the art of contrast with remarkable skill, and delicately brings out his watercolours to give meaning to his drawings.— Sud Ouest newspaper
